Under the decisions and arrangement from the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, the Sichuan Provincial Government in developing the province’s advantageous industries, SCIG has taken the advantage of Sichuan’s abundant hydropower resources to work with major central SOEs including State Development and Investment Corporation, China Guodian Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, China Datang Corporation, State Power Investment Corporation, China Huaneng Group and Shenhua Group. The company has long dedicated to the energy industry, has stake in 3,603 GW, accounting for 46, accounting for 46 percent in the province, among which water power at 2,846 GW, coal-fired power 757 GW. The company has a controlling interest in 352 GW of power generating sets, and has a stake in all generating sets of installed capacity for 798 GW. As the power demand drops year by year in the province and the installed capacity increases year by year, the company not only steadily promotes the coordinated development of water power, coal-fired power and new energy power generation, but also actively explores new business models as it is involved in energy internet development in Sichuan Province and founded the largest state-owned electricity sales company in the province. It also works hard to expand power sales channels to ensure its leading position in the energy industry. SCIG has also actively answered the call of the Belt and Road Initiative and expanded its overseas energy projects. It not only secured a project in building hydropower station in Nepal, but also is actively promoting its projects in Democratic Republic of Congo and Peru, so as to introduce its energy industry to the outside world.
